A LITTLE BIT ABOUT DENNIS

Dennis Wayne Barcuch is running for Hobbs City Commission in District 5.  He has been a resident of Hobbs for over 18 years and is a small business owner.  He and his wife Staci have been married for 12 years.  They are raising two daughters ages 10 and 6.

Dennis has been involved most recently as a local government transparency advocate. His work with others helped launch transparency thru the livestream and archive of Hobbs Commission Meetings.  He values the need of local government to be openly available and transparent to all people.  He has a passion for advocating involvement from the community and advancing education on how public opinion affects local government.  He believes strongly that the changes we desire to see in our culture begin with us as individuals right here in the city of Hobbs.  Every vote counts in our local elections!

The first thing his friends and family will tell you is that he has never forgotten where he came from or who he is fighting for. From humble beginnings, he moved to Hobbs 18 years ago and worked hard to build a small, local window cleaning company.  Committed to be the change he wants to see in our world, Dennis set his standards high and will not stop fighting until a proper balance has been reached.  His motivation is to leave a bright future for his girls' generation.

Hobbsans are STRONG, SMART and CAPABLE of directing this city and protecting its future. In his days as a consumer lobbyist, Dennis sought the public’s input about their government. He will continue to be a catalyst for broad and viral communications between the citizens and the administration. He will champion public involvement- through education, information and news- so the people always know what is happening and can guide their government well.

THE ISSUES AT HAND

LET'S TALK ABOUT IT!

WE NEED EASIER WAYS TO COMMUNICATE WITH OUR ELECTED OFFICIALS, LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND *EACH OTHER* ABOUT THE ISSUES WE FACE IN OUR COMMUNITY AND IDEAS FOR THE FUTURE. NO ONE IS SITTING BY THEMSELVES ON AN ABANDONED ISLAND. LET'S MAKE OUR IDEAS GO VIRAL!

THE INFO-FLOW

INFORMATION NEEDS TO GET TO THE HANDS OF OUR COMMUNITY IN WAYS THAT WILL DELIVER INFORMATION TO THE MOST PEOPLE. TOO OFTEN, WE HEAR ABOUT OPPORTUNITIES FOR PUBLIC INPUT AND INVOLVEMENT ONLY AFTER IT'S TOO LATE.

INTEGRITY.

/INˈTEꞬRƏDĒ/ (NOUN)

THE QUALITY OF BEING HONEST AND HAVING STRONG MORAL PRINCIPLES; MORAL UPRIGHTNESS. THE STATE OF BEING WHOLE; UNDIVIDED.

INTEGRITY.  IT MATTERS.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHO IS DENNIS BARCUCH?

Dennis is a 51 year old businessman, who owns and operates a small business in the city of Hobbs.  He moved to Hobbs in 1997 and fell in love with the people, the dry air and the familial attitude of the city's residents.  He has been married for 12 years and has two daughters, ages 10 and 6.  Dennis’ children are both Hobbs natives and are being raised here.  This city is their future and they are his motivation to see it is secure.

He attends and volunteers at Cowboy Junction Church and enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, playing cards and if you're sneaky you might just catch him playing a game of "Just Dance" with his girls!

WHAT DOES HE BELIEVE MAKES A GOOD CITY?

Dennis believes that the individual is strong and capable, if faith and freedom are protected. He believes in infrastructure and frugal spending habits; as well as true access to information which allows for better decisions by the people, who are the true guideposts for their community.

He believes that Hobbs will always benefit from leaders that simply communicate with the people and listen to informed guidance. He is a leader that will champion the liberty of the citizens, so that all have a stake in protecting Hobbs’ future.

WHAT MAKES HIM QUALIFIED TO SIT AS A COMMISSIONER AND HOW CAN HE HELP?

As a younger adult, he developed a passion for lobbying and for giving the public access to information about the activities of government. His opinion is that good decisions can always be made if government is guided by its citizens. Citizens can ONLY guide well when its informed and can easily communicate with each other virally and as a common body, with government. Government will take guidance from an informed and invested public who knows their rights, powers and obligations.
